Jurassic Park
Steven Spielberg is a madman, a genius, an artist, and a magician. I think that about sums up this whole film. For those who’ve seen it, you know what I’m talking about. For those that HAVEN’T seen it, what the hell are you waiting for? This is one of the greatest films ever made, not just action, not just sci-fi, but all time. This is my second time watching it, and it was better than the first time. The first time, which was a couple years ago, I thought it was extremely good. But having a better movie sense now, it was about a million times more enjoyable. I’m also prepping for Rebirth in a few days, so that’s why I got around to rewatching it. Anyways, the film is genius. The story is unique, with just enough realism to be authentic, while still being a little far fetched. It’s one of those sci-fi’s that could totally be real, but definitely isn’t (yet…….). The use of practical effects (with a mix of CGI) is what makes it so good. It’s hard to be scared of big movie monsters when they’re just CGI…..but in this case, the T-Rex is pretty much an actual T-Rex, so there’s actually something to be scared of. And nobody can deliver it like Spielberg does. All the performances are outstanding, with memorable characters and some awesome line deliveries. I wouldn’t want anybody different in these roles. And the score? John Williams makes me cry every time. No matter what film he does, tears will be shed. The main Jurassic theme is so promising, like you’re being teased for such a wonderful world, and then boom, the dinos come to eat you and you’re running for your life. Williams’ score only adds to the suspense and tension, and it’s hauntingly gorgeous. There’s so much more I could say, but you truly need to experience this for yourself. Words cannot do it justice. Films are not made like this anymore. Enjoy it while you can. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
