Batman Returns
I would say that this is definitely a downgrade from the first movie, but it does still hold up as being a great sequel. I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with this film. It's seems like every time I watch it, I react to it the exact opposite as the last time I saw it. I used to love it, then hated it, then loved it, then hated it, now I love it again. It's weird. Tim Burton defintiely Burtons all over this, which gives me mixed feelings about it sometimes. A lot of the characters and sets have the same feel as the first one, though it just seems even more outlandish. I like how parts of the plot take a leaf out of Batman ‘66’s book. There are some very similar themes and situations, which is nice. Like I stated, all the characters have the same vibes that the original movie had, and I like them all. Of course, Keaton back as Batman is awesome, and he continues to do an outstanding job. I like seeing a bit more of his personal side, especially when it comes to Bruce Wayne. His suit looks similar to his ‘89 suit, though a bit upgraded, which makes it better. Danny DeVito as the Penguin is extremely brilliant, as he has a great look and awesome portrayal. His voice is similar to Burgess Meredith’s raspy voice, so I think that’s cool. Christopher Walken is pretty good, though a little pointless, but the real star is Michelle Pfeiffer. She is easily the best live action Catwoman of all time. Though she’s not my favorite, she’s still in my top three. She does a purrfect job, as she is mysterious, yet gentle, yet violent. Her suit is absolutely awesome, and I would be very surprised if anybody can top her performance. Especially the Bat/Cat dynamic, which is maybe the greatest in any piece of Batman media. Maybe that's bold to say, but I'm saying it. The music is great once again, though I prefer the original score from ‘89 more. Overall, this movie is great (for now), though it's slightly campy but still very serious. I would recommend it to all Batman/DC fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
