Star Wars: Clone Wars
Why the heck did I wait this long to watch this? I knew it existed, and I had access to it, but I was just like “eh, I don’t need to right now.” But man, when Star Wars animation hits, it HITS. It’s such a simple show, with nothing too overdone, and it’s definitely not geared to adults. But that doesn’t stop it from being impactful and absolutely awesome. Even though it’s not official Star Wars canon, it still adds so much depth to the characters, and fills in some of their backstories. I also REALLY loved seeing much more from side characters like Kit Fisto, Ki-Adi Mundi, and other lesser known Jedi. It’s nice to expand the realm of Star Wars history and not just solely focus on a few key people. Both Clone Wars shows do a great job at that. I think the strongest element of this show is the animation, which is 2D. That’s what completely sells it for me. So much animation nowadays is always 3D, so having something that looks completely hand drawn just…..works. It’s gorgeous and stunning, but like I said earlier, it isn’t over the top. The character designs were all great, though very goofy at times, but I’m here for it. And the voice cast were all decent, though very noticeably not the original prequel cast. But it’s a great show that I waited much too long to watch, and I would recommend it to all Star Wars fans. This show is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
