The Perfect Neighbor
Short review today. For two reasons. One, I feel absolutely gutted and my eyes are tired from crying. I can’t help it, I’m sensitive. Second reason, there’s not that much to say. It’s the complete story of a prejudiced situation that should’ve never happened, all captured by police bodycam and interview footage. The (mostly) linear storytelling puts everything right in front of you, and you certainly know where you stand by the end. There’s not an abundance of narration or exposition, which is nice. It’s just the facts presented straight to you as is. There’s no bias or spin or opinions, it’s all real life and complete facts. The downside of this film is that it’s hard to sit through and extremely emotional. It’s the hardest I’ve cried at a film in quite some time. But it takes a toll on your mind. I will say no more, I feel too empty right now. Overall, it’s very solid, though nothing groundbreaking. It’s simple and quick, but effective. I would recommend it to all true crime fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
