Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Look, don’t go into this expecting anything Oscar worthy. I read several Rotten Tomatoes reviews of people totally dunking on this, saying that it’s a whole lot of nothing, and it’s mostly just fluff and out of place. Well, as a long, LONG time fan of this, you can respectfully shut up. No, it’s not the best piece of Star Wars animation, and the Clone Wars show VASTLY improves on this. But hey, you have to start somewhere, and eight year old me was completely obsessed with this film. It was such a huge chunk of my childhood so I will defend this with my life. It’s goofy at times, and it’s true that it’s got a very weak storyline. However, sometimes you need to turn off your brain and just let the nostalgia hit you. The animation is a bit choppy and obviously not as complete as the Clone Wars show in its later years, but it’s still very fun and has great character designs. The classic Clone Wars pointiness and squareness of everyone’s facial features is hilarious but unique. There’s honestly not a whole lot more to say. The voice cast is pretty solid, and I just love the playfulness of this. Again, it’s far from being a masterpiece, but I saw it so many times as a kid, then I can’t help but love it. I would probably recommend it to all Star Wars fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
