Spinal Tap II: The End Continues
This will be a relatively quick review, as I don’t feel like I have a huge amount to say. For starters, it definitely doesn’t hit the same level that the first one days, but I do think this is still underrated. It takes a very modern approach while still having plenty of callbacks to the first film. The story basically just follows the band as they reunite for a final concert, and of course, the journey to making it happen. Like the first one, most of the dialogue was improvised by the main guys, who are just as funny as ever. Their age really comes into play to make it stand out, mostly because old dudes being random and ragging on each other is always hilarious. Plus, getting to see Paul McCartney and Elton John was really cool. That is legitimately all I can think of saying right now. The music is good, the characters are all goofy and memorable, and it embraces modern day while still feeling vintage. It’s a solid sequel, though weaker than the first. I would recommend it if you like the first one. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
