Superman and the Mole Men
I’ve gone on record saying that Christopher Reeve is the best Superman, which isn’t debatable at all. However, when it comes to the most personal version of the character, George Reeves is MY Superman. He’s the one I grew up watching as a kid, and I spent so much time imagining myself in his shoes. This was his first appearance as Superman, with it also being the first feature length DC film. It’s such a silly little sci-fi film, one you definitely need to turn off your brain for. The story is paper thin and stupid, but hey, I love it. Superman also doesn’t have as much screen time as I would like him to have, but it’s still pretty entertaining. I also love how despite the time (1951) and technology, they can still make you believe a man can fly. The quality improves drastically in the following show, but this is still a good, fun, goofy introduction to such an iconic, memorable character. All hail George Reeves! He is THE Superman! That’s all I have to say about this film. Not the best made ever, but a quick adventure that’s pretty enjoyable, and starts the showcase of, in my opinion, the original, classic Superman. Love you George. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
