• Y’all are hating on this show WAY too much. It’s definitely not the best or most memorable show, nor is the humor and content for everyone (looking at you, misogynists), but it’s definitely for me. Kind of like I said in my Love and Thunder review, I’m very easy to please, and can be humored by pretty much anything. I think this show is a good example of “don’t judge a book by its cover”. I’ll get my complaints out of the way first. The two biggest faults were the writing and the VFX. The dialogue was extremely corny at times (but I still laughed), though the fourth wall narration was fun. And rather than having a plot that leads to a big bad or some crazy event, it feels more like an anthology series. That’s not a bad thing, it just takes some getting used to. Second complaint: the VFX was a big eyesore. It was quite dismal at times, and very shoddy for Marvel standards. Most of the time, She-Hulk just looked rubbery and….fake. I know they used some body/stunt doubles for references and action shots, but it was still very distracting. Honestly, they should’ve taken the Bixby and Ferrigno route, and used a completely different person for She-Hulk, rather than doing a CGI face. That would’ve rocked. Plus, it would give more female actresses (especially the bigger ones, muscle wise) a chance to work in a leading role, rather than just doing stunt/extras work. It would feel so much more realistic than what I saw. But Tatiana Maslany is great, and I hope to see much more of her as Jennifer Walters! So barring the occasional silly dialogue and VFX, I thought the show was quite hilarious, with some goofy legal drama, a great cameo from Matthew freaking Murdock (one of my several Marvel husbands), and likable characters (for the most part). Everyone is sleeping on this show. I’d definitely recommend it if you just wanna watch something fun, without having to use your mind too much.
