A Very Jonas Christmas Movie
My first Christmas movie watch of 2025 was certainly a trip, both positively and negatively. As a whole, this was basically like Camp Rock 2.5, just without Demi Lovato. If you’ve seen either Camp Rocks, you know that they are so bad, they’re good. Same for this. There are definitely a couple moments that are kind of atrocious, but also some that are hilarious and just plain fun. The story is extremely simple and very Christmas cliche’d. The JoBros have to get home by Christmas, and it follows all their unfortunate mishaps along the way. That’s honestly about all there is to it. Then there’s all the love drama and singing Christmas-y songs and some melancholy songs and whatever else came along. Hey, that kinda rhymes. But yeah, it’s nothing special. I did enjoy a lot of the meta comments about the Jonas’ career, and just pop culture in general (I mean, come on, that Jeremy Strong Golden Globes reference?). Also the ‘Home Alone’ throwbacks were awesome. The acting wasn’t very good, but that was to be expected. It’s the brothers being themselves, being somewhat crazy but mostly down to earth. Randall Park was fun to see, though. I can’t really think of too much more to say, it’s kind of a meh film but it was still mostly enjoyable. The songs were decent and Kenny G is cool. It’s very silly and very stupid, but it’s good. I would probably only recommend it to JoBro fans, unless you just want some dumb fun.
