Star Wars Resistance
I honestly didn’t even know that this show existed up until a few months ago, right when I started my Star Wars run. It was a bit surprising because there’s two full length seasons, and I only just learned it was a thing. That being said, my expectations were not super high, just because it didn’t seem like a prolific show. However, I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would, for two main reasons. The first and biggest reason is because I love that it expands on the lore and fight against the First Order. I love the First Order, mostly because they terrify me even more than the Empire does. I’m not sure why, but they do. So seeing more of them was really cool. The second reason is because it’s a nice leadup into The Force Awakens and The Rise of Skywalker, and while it’s connected to the sequel trilogy, it also feels like a cool little filler show. I’m not saying it’s insignificant, but it’s a bit more relaxing than the films are. There’s some episodes that are fun and carefree, and then some where the First Order shows up and the main characters have to kick butt. The writing isn’t anything special, but it’s fun. The animation took a few episodes to get used to, but I really like the way it looks, though it’s no comparison to Rebels or Clone Wars. The voice cast was also great, especially from Christopher Sean and Josh Brener. Those two are a fantastic and hilarious duo, and I’d love to see more of them in the Star Wars universe. Overall, it’s a pretty great show that adds some excitement to the sequel lore, while also being just something you can watch in the background while doing stuff. Also, shoutout to my man Kylo in the last few episodes. Just a tiny amount of screentime, but I’ll take anything I can get. I would recommend this to all Star Wars fans, just don’t expect it to be on the same level as Clone Wars or Rebels. This show is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
