Shark Side of the Moon
Next you I see a movie that says “Tubi Original” across it, I will be staying away. The only reason I watched this was because it was requested by a good friend. My message to my good friend is, “What the heck were you thinking?” Now, I can certainly understand why some people might enjoy this. It’s about as crappy as sci-fi gets, in a “so good, it’s bad” way. There were genuinely some moments where I was laughing and shaking my head in disbelief, almost solely because of how horrible it was. The story is among one of the worst I’ve seen. Some Soviets make impenetrable killer sharks, which make their way to the moon. Then the Americans show up and have to fight the sharks. It’s awful. The acting was on the level of a ten year old school project. No offense to the ten year olds out there. The line deliveries were so unbelievable, and the facial expressions were just….funny. You can’t take any of this seriously. Finally, the visual effects were certainly on the level of Tubi Original. Every bit of CGI was so evident and Wii coded. Not trying to knock anyone who worked on this. That being said, you don’t watch this expecting an Oscar nomination for Best Picture. You watch it to numb your brain and have a crappy but good time. Not for me, but maybe for others. I would only recommend this if you love insanely horrible, very low budget, sci-fi/action movies.
