Heartstopper
I had never even heard of this show until I got a little bit more familiar with Kit Connor’s filmography after seeing him in ‘Warfare’. So I said to myself, “Oh, what the heck, I’ll watch it.” I will now confidently say, which I don’t say often, is that this is one of the greatest pieces of media ever made. Not just one of the greatest TV shows ever, but the greatest things ever made PERIOD. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a TV show be so heartfelt and emotional. No show has ever translated love and feeling that way this one has. I’m absolutely mind blown by how it’s possible that something this great could’ve been made. Every episode feels like a warm hug, like you’re protected from the world and being held by something so loving. Even some of the more darker episodes still display love and affection, and make you feel warm and fuzzy. The storyline follows the blossoming relationship between Nick and Charlie, and their friends and school situations. It’s so relatable on every level, and I feel like everyone can find some kind of connection with this show. Charlie’s friend group feels like your own friend group, and by the time you finish the show, every one of the protagonists feels like family. The performances were so authentic and down to earth. The writing around them is some of the best I’ve ever seen, ever. Every little detail adds some kind of important element to the characters. It’s just a revelational show. There’s so much more I could say, and so much more I want to say, but I’m just too in love with this show, and the characters, and the relationships, and the overall message, that I simply can’t go on. All I have to do is wait until the Heartstopper film comes out, and that will be it……but until then, I will be obsessively rewatching this until then……or until the end of time. It’s one of the greatest pieces of media ever developed. Everyone needs to watch it before they die. That’s not a request from me, that’s an order. This show is officially Berry Approved, so go check it out now!
