• STAR WARS ANIMATION, AM I RIGHT? I MIGHT JUST HAVE TO WRITE MY ENTIRE REVIEW IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE OF HOW PEAK THIS IS. Not really, I don’t want to yell this at you. But yes, this show really is that good. I had pretty high expectations going into it, because I’d only ever heard good things. But every expectation was met, and I’m just blown away by how awesome this is. I think the biggest reason why I love it so much is because of the time span that it covers. When it comes to the Star Wars timeline, my absolute favorite part is the reign of the Empire. I still really love the prequel lore, but the Empire lore just hits differently, and it’s probably because that’s what I first grew up watching. Plus, you can make connections between the Empire and the current political climate of our country (what? who said that?). Anyways, this show displays the end of the prequels and the birth/development of the Empire, so it’s like getting two pieces of gum from a gumball machine instead of one. I also love the content, which is the phasing out of clones and the formation of the Stormtroopers, which is something I’ve always wondered about. There are so many questions answered, plus many connections made between every Star Wars trilogy. I think the writing is great, with super strong characters who you attach to very quickly, whether you realize it or not. Their growth and grit make them super memorable and some of my favorite characters in this entire universe. From the first episode to the last, the character arcs and the character relationships are the foundation for this series. Which is usually the case in most film/tv projects, but this one specifically. My only complaint is that I think season three was just a tiny bit weaker than the first two, though it ends on a really positive note. It’s obviously not bad, just the smallest step below the first two. Overall, it’s a nearly perfect show with plenty of action packed scenes, sentimental moments, personable characters, and it makes me love the Star Wars universe that much more. I would absolutely recommend it to all Star Wars fans. This show is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
