Nekromantik
I don’t have a whole lot to say about this, mostly because there’s not a whole lot there. Before watching it, I read the short summary on Letterboxd. It said it was about a guy who brought a corpse home to his wife for them to…enjoy, and she becomes more involved with the corpse than with him. And that’s exactly what you get with this film. It’s only 73 minutes, so it’s a very quick trip. It’s basically just necrophilia, with a few other grotesque scenes scattered throughout. Painfully simple, very fast, and just gross. I’m honestly kind of here for it, though there’s very little substance (well…in terms of writing, there’s tons of physical substance hehehe). But yeah, the story is weak, and it’s just necrophilia. The gore effects are hilarious and awesome, though, and it’s that kind of cheap horror that’s always the best. Not that this film is anywhere near good, but you can enjoy the makeup and effects. The performances were all very dull, except for Beatrice Manowski, who was definitely showing what kind of a time she was having. The score was very repetitive and very 80s, and the visuals were very shaky, grainy, and dirty (complimentary). But the film as a whole really has nothing going for it. I would only recommend it if you like shoddy shock value films.
